What you will learn
You know, when I first taught this course, my goal was to make it approachable and enriching for beginners like yourself. As a starter, stepping into the world of mixed media, it's thrilling how each class has been tailored to gently guide you through the process of creating charming little birds, blending various materials and techniques in an organic way.
In Lesson 1 we find our inspiration image and transfer it to the canvas. I also talk about color a bit and we lay our base layers down using acrylic paint.
Lesson 2 we start adding painted papers to our birds. I show you how to adjust the colors and tones to suit your piece and layer the world of texture and color together. It's all about the layers!
In Lesson 3 you will see me add more layers using Neocolor crayons, colored pencil and other mediums to finish off the details in you piece. Bits of mark making finish the art and brings it to next level. You'll also see how I attach the eye hook and sari ribbon to transform the little 4x6 canvas into an adorable hanging piece of art.
By the end of our time together, you'll not only have a flock of adorable feathered artworks to call your own but also the tools and confidence to soar further into the mixed media landscape.
